Witch aka Lechusa

This is a story that was told by a friend of mine when I used to work for the a home health company, the guy I used to take care used to tell me stories of his wife's family in Mexico.  The story goes like this.

In the heart of Mexico, there was a small town  and in that small town everybody knew each other. Well, as the story goes the man had went by the river and went to go and get some water from the near by river. As the man was walking back home (in the evening) he felt as if someone was watching him. He was almost in town when he felt a swoosh above him. When he looked up it was a Lechusa. The lechusa came up from behind him and clawed his back as she tried to lift him up. She did manage to claw him good. Anyway she came back around and this time he was running back in to town as fast as he could, well the lechusa came back around him, he grabbed her, because she was so far down low that she was going to attack him if he didn't grab her first, at that time he pulled out a machette (machete in Spanish) anyways as he pulled out the machete, he split her in half.

He ran home thinking there was going to be more after her, (most of the time they travel in a group) so they say. Anyways that next morning the town kids came around and were knocking on the doors and telling people that they had found an old woman dead outside of town. I guess everybody got water from the same river, but the lady was a neighbor of the guy who killed her. True story or not I thought I'd share. I like the story and hopefully you did too.
