Late one winter night, myself and my ex-wife left her moms around 12 - 12:30 am. We were to go to my moms alongside the old Kearsly power station through the railway tunnel. This was a quicker way up to Kearsley. Back then, in 1985, there were no lights or road markings. We strolled up a rather long strip of road chatting to each other like any other day. We approached the bend still chatting and continued along the straight road towards the tunnel. As we neared the upwards slope leading to the tunnel, we looked up and forwards towards it. At this moment we both stopped in our foot steps, staring at the entrance of the tunnel. Up ahead was an apparition of a child. It was the vision of a small boy. We saw him lent upon the entrance of the tunnel wall with his arms folded! He then walked to the opposite side of the entrance while staring at us both. He took the same pose again with a crystal clear silhouette. Each feature was perfect.
We turned and ran back in the direction we came from. When out of sight from the boy and tunnel, we walked on. Then as if from nowhere, there was a twist in the story. A car was parked across the centre of the road with all doors open and four people stood around it . As we were passing, one of the men asked if we had seen anything out of the ordinary. I replied , "No. like what?" A little boy maybe, he replied. For some reason or other, I didn't say anything of what we saw.
We continued past her moms house and headed towards my moms in Kearsley. We spoke of many reasons for the boys appearance to us. Why he appeared to stop us going through the tunnel etc. And the car which pointed to the direction of the tunnel though hadn't past us either way. I would love to experience it all again because given a second chance I would not be as scared as I was then. It was as if he was meant to warn us off and not scare us. Since witnessing all this we have never spoke of it to anyone up to this moment. Believe us when we say that ghosts do exist. Thanks for reading.
