The Shadow Man - What Am I dealing With?

My story is not a dream. These encounters with the shadow man started when I was three or four. My family lived in a house that had a large back yard with a garden at the end of the garden was an alley. When we would be put to bed I would go to the window facing the garden and each night there would be a man, dressed in all black with a black wide brim hat on I could make out no facial features at all just the silhouette of him he stood around 6 feet and was about 230 lbs he would stand there and beckon me with his right hand to go to him. I would shake my head and look around to see if anyone else was around to see him then run into my parents room. They would come and look but no one ever saw him but me and they would tell me it was just a dream. My parents divorced and I was adopted by my aunt and uncle.

I moved. I never saw the shadow man after that, but to this day he now haunts my sleep there is not one night that I don't wake up from fighting with him. I even talk in my sleep about him and people around me say that I literally carry on complete conversations. It has got to the point that I don't even sleep at night because for some reason he doesn't come to me in the day light.

Can anyone tell me what I am dealing with I am pagan and have talked to my pagan friends and they seem to think I need to confront this man and cast him away from me but I have tried and nothing works.

The Christmas Horror

I was just 13 at the time, and it was around Christmas. My mother and I were decorating our Christmas tree. We plugged in our radio to play Christmas music. The day was cheery, and fun filled day. My sister came down the stairs screaming with tears rolling down her cheeks. "It touched me! It touched me!" she shouted. My mom's eyes lit up in shock. "What touched you?"

"The Dark Shadow!" my sister yelped.

Since my sister was so terrified, I decided to snoop around up stairs to see this 'Dark Shadow.'When I reached the steps I had a dull feeling. The steps creaked from underneath me. A little robot from my sisters McDonalds meal was roaming around up stairs going in a circle. I picked the toy up from the carpet, then something pushed me. I felt scared, so I picked myself off the ground and ran downstairs. "MOM! There is something up there!" I shouted. "You're kidding Jacey!" my mother replied. "I'm going up there, stay here." My sister and I huddled close on the couch, I mean I was 13 I didn't know what to do. I covered my sisters head, hoping she wouldn't here my mothers screams. "Stay here! If you come up stairs you could be in danger!" I told my sister. I rushed up the stairs to find my mother laying in the hallway with red marks all over her arms, legs, stomach, and even her face. I began to cry, then shouted , "MOM! we are leaving. let's go!!" My mom could hardly stand, but she managed to get us out of the evil house, and to my grandmother's apartment a few blocks down. I pounded on the door, shouting and crying, until my grandfather answered. "Come in!

What happened?"

"Ghosts!"

"No, shadows."

When my mother got cleaned up, we settled in the guest room for the night. I could barely sleep. The next morning we went to the library and searched up history on the house. Comes to find out, a man in his mid 30's passed away the night before Christmas eve. Ever since, every family that get's involved with Christmas in the Jerome House get's tormented.

Shadow Man With a Red Face

I was asleep on my couch the TV was on and it was approximately 10 - 12:00 PM. I was about to get up and turn off the TV when I saw a black figure a man with a red face standing by the couch. I could hear its inhaling and exhaling.

I fell asleep an hour later after cowering in fear under the covers, but when I woke up the TV was off and I was alone. I looked up and the figure was closer. I screamed but nothing but air came out, so I hid for hours, but this feeling of exhaustion over powered me forcing me to sleep. At 6:00 AM I woke and the figure was still there but farther away and the TV was back on. I heard my mom come down the stairs, and the figure was gone. Since them I've always felt a presence in my home.

Dark Shadow on Web Cam

It was almost six in the evening when me and my husband just started to chat... he's working abroad so it is our everyday routine to chat 'til we go to sleep, that time... I just opened my cam and was waiting for him to accept it as he was busy preparing his meal, I was viewing my own cam. I saw something in front of my viewed image... it was a shadow, something like a huge flying object. I thought I was seeing a shadow of a big butterfly... but why on cam? I asked myself. I don't see anything flying around me though... then the shadow went at my back... it seems like something dropped a bit far from my behind. I turned my back, but nothing was there... then looking at my own image on the monitor there again the dark shadow at my back forming like human, I was shocked, but I managed to ask him "who are you?"

Still looking at my monitor cam the image seems coming forward then I turned my back as I felt my hair standing. I got up from my seat then the black shadow suddenly disappeared. I looked at the monitor. My husband just accepted my invitation to view my cam. I asked him if he saw it... asking me back... "saw what?" then I told him about it, he told me to  pray. I knew it wasn't something from the computer as it was my first time experience after having been chatting for about a year now, and I got so scared that I moved my computer out of our room to our living room.

My Encounter with Shadow Creatures

Me and my parents were sitting at the dinner table and there was air freshener on top of  the fridge. Then I saw a black shadow out of the corner of my eye. When I looked over it was gone. Then I kept eating shrugging it off when the air freshener fell off the fridge. My moms boyfriend then said " what the heck?" Then we all glanced over to the fridge area. We all started wondering how it could have possibly fallen seeing as there was nothing to make it fall.

When I went to throw something out outside, I heard screeching and whispers and I ran inside and told my mom and she just said it was nothing.

Later on that night I went upstairs in my room to read a book.I had my door open and I kept seeing black figures run across the hallway. All three of my cats were in my room my dog was down stairs with my mom and my little brother was sleeping. I called from upstairs and asked my mom if she had come upstairs at all. She answered no.

I couldn't sleep at all that night and I have been seeing shadow creatures everywhere, including friends and family houses

Several Hauntings

Whenever I went down into my basement, it felt like someone was following me and it pushed me down four steps. It appeared over my bed as a ball of light, and I could see weird gnome like shadow people running in my front yard, and see a shadowy black mass appear in the corner of my room.

At my grandmothers old house, the upstairs (especially at the top of the steps) it was freezing, I could feel someone watching me, you could feel something bad in the house, and I heard the most loud god awful bang in the world like a gunshot which is understandable because the old man that lived in there before hung and shot himself.

Shadows of Two Girls at my Door

It all started this year back in I'd say January. However it always started in the middle of the night. The first night it started I was too afraid to even move. It all took place at the door to come into my room. They looked like shadows of two girls about the age of maybe 11 and 8. They always seemed so cheerful. One night I wanted to talk to them and see them a little bit closer, but sadly once I did they disappeared into thin air. I was actually looking forward to actually communicate with them.

I tried to tell my sister and my parents but they didn't believe me. I guess its a little bit hard to understand something you've never seen before. But there are also even more strange occurrences that occur in my home like when I was about five years old I would here loud footsteps coming from the attic and the time when one night I was sleeping (I was three years old at the time) and a shadowy figure was trying to untangle the balloon strings wrapped around me. But I still don't think those creatures was trying to harm me. I personally think they where my guardian angels. Sorry that's the end of my story but if I have another possibly paranormal experience I will definitely tell you.

Shadow Ghost in the Black Out

Hi, my name is Elizabeth I am 14 and this is my ghost story. Well it was on a stormy day and we had a black out, it was me, my sister Ashley (the oldest), my sister Mackenzie (3rd youngest), and my other little sis. During the black out everyone gathered downstairs in the dining room to play cards or something and my mom sent me to look for some candles and flashlights to use until the power came back on. So I went upstairs, into the closet, grabbed the stuff and came back down.

We played cards for a while until about 9:00 or 9:30, and we started setting up beds in the dining room so everyone was together. Before everyone went to bed we got a call saying that the power wasn't going to turn on until 10:00 pm. So then everyone got into bed and fell asleep. But for some reason I couldn't sleep. I felt uncomfortable, like someone was watching me. So I looked around and in the living room I had seen some kind of figure. It was in a human shaped form and it was pitch black everywhere on its body, almost like a shadow. It was slowly rising from behind the couch. I know exactly what I had seen, after a bit of studying of course.

I found out the ghost I had seen was something called a shadow ghost, but it wasn't my only encounter we had more than one in this house any way. In others I wouldd say I had more encounters in some of my older houses I've lived in. So I'm kind of used to seeing these kind of things.

Shadows and Objects Moving

Some strange things have been happening in my house over the last few years mainly targeted at my 13 year old daughter.The first thing I remember was when she said she left something on her bed and it was gone and I jokingly said oh someone must have come in and taken it. I shouted out "put it back now" as I searched the floor and next a small doll fell of her shelf and hit my head. We were both shocked but I laughed and shouted it again and then there was a loud bang in the other bedroom. Anyway later  the missing item appeared at the side of the bed where we had previously looked.

Another day when I walked into her room her glasses shot off the shelf passed me and onto the floor for no apparent reason. On Halloween last we were all going to bed after watching Most Haunted Live. It was 2:40 and my daughter was in her room when she shouted, "oh my god". When I shouted "what" she said "oh nothing". The same thing happened a minute later and then after about another minute she came running in terrified and said a hair band on her bed moved. She thought she imagined it the first time on account of watching that programme and tried not to look but when it happened twice more she knew it was real. I made excuses to her as to what could have made it happen as I do every time something strange happens and went into her room and looked at the bed, and sure enough after a few seconds I clearly saw it move.

A few weeks ago she went into the kitchen in the dark and saw a shooting blue light go from the left corner of the floor to the right ceiling. She also has told me recently that she sees black shadows regularly in the house. They are not large but up to 1 or 2 feet. I would see a look come on her face and ask what's wrong and she would say "nothing," but eventually she decided to tell me. She isn't afraid so I don't think it's anything bad. What could this all be? (These are only a few of the things that happened).

Black Shadows Still Around My House

Awhile back I submitted a story that me and my daughter saw a black shadow in and around my house, well guess what? It is still hanging around my house. I was telling that story to my other daughter a couple of days ago and  right after I told her, this shadow passes across my back door. I got up quickly and went to go and check out side and nothing. My husband too, we were sitting out late and talking in the back yard and I told him I was going in side for a minute and when I went back out side he said he had seen something over by this tree that is across the street, and he had thought it was me. He said he was going to go and check, (I guess he thought I was trying to scare him) and he said he saw me come out and he told me what he had seen. This shadow would be behind a tree and from the corner of his eye he would see it pop his head out  and wave at him, like if it was trying to get his attention. Last night we had got into an argument and he said he couldn't sleep, after I fell asleep he said that he kept hearing noises in the living room and all of the sudden he looked under the door way and he saw shadow feet under the door.

I don't know what is going on. I wish it would just leave us alone. My mom used to play with the Ouija board and tarot cards and other things and every since she gave me some stuff I have been seeing this black thing linger around my house. Should I get rid of the stuff she gave me? Or is it too late. This story is not to scary , but it is true. Maybe I should have my house blessed. I just hope things don't get worse. I don't know what I will do.  Well if anyone has any suggestions comment below. Thanks.

Mysterious Black Mass in My Room

Ok in the summer of 2008 it was about 2 in the morning and I was asleep and I heard a loud noise in the corner of my bedroom. Now I live in complex apartments so one of the apartments patio lights were on and it shines through my window and shines on the corner of the wall... so as I woke up I didn't see the light shining on the wall so I just thought that it was broken (we don't have any control if we want them on or not they just come on at night like street lights).

So I didn't think much of it until I peek out the window and see that it is still on. I look at the corner of my room and I see what looked like a 6 foot face-less black shadow standing there and it seemed like it was staring at me. I was frozen with fear and shock and it didn't move or say a word, then all of a sudden it started to move very slowly towards me almost like it was floating towards me and it stopped at the end of my bed and I finally snapped out of it and reached to turn my light on and it was like just before I could touch the light switch it was gone. I haven't seen it since and I still don't know what it was or what it wanted. I was 15 I'm 16 now it really freaked me out I couldn't go back to sleep until it was light outside.

Help With Shadow Creature

I am not a overly religious person, but I need some insight into a shadow figure that has been making it's presence felt more frequently. At first I was afraid of it. But I no longer am. It appears at night, only in my bedroom and seems to like to lay beside me, or make indentations on my bed and gently shake my mattress. It sometimes even jumps over me to get to the right side of the bed. It walks into the kitchen and I can hear it's foot steps. It bangs on walls, shakes the windows and sometimes makes moaning sounds. But it is strange because this figure has appeared in my now ex husbands dreams and in my ex boyfriends dreams.

Several years ago I dreamt I saw it watching me, watching it through my bedroom window as my husband and I slept. They both have never met, but they both told me the same dream characteristics, "a black figure was kidnapping you from me and I couldn't fight it." Subsequently after each had these dreams, our relationship ended. (nothing to do with the dream.) But I wonder if the entity is actually following me from place to place and relationship to relationship. Last night when it appeared, I moved over to the right side of the bed so that it could lay down on the left side, then I said good night and it strangely made a pressure indentation in the mattress next to me. I then went back to sleep. Am I crazy, or is this real? It has been more frequent over the past four years.

Shadow Demon

It's like this. I don't remember the first time I saw it but it wasn't just in one place, this thing has followed me. It wanted to possess me I think, or I'm pretty sure. I don't think it was a human sprit. A demon of some sort that felt I could possibly be a good host to invade.

A tall dark shadow resembling the shape of a man in a hooded sweat shirt. No face just a black shadow. This figure would only come at night, and would not make it's self apparent unless the lights were very dim or completely off.

The first time I remember seeing it though I'm sure I had seen it before was at a house I owned on the south side of St. Louis. I was on the couch trying to sleep and it kept watching me. I feel it was not a nice whatever it was. There were other times after that. It seemed like the more I would abuse my body and do harm upon others the more it would appear.

Eventually my wife, the kids, and I  moved from that house to Wilwood Missouri. I got worse, my wife was pregnant with my third daughter, and I would go to the city disappearing for days sometimes weeks at a time. Finally I came back home. I laid on the couch lights off, but the kitchen light was on. There it was, it's presence stronger then ever. Quickly it sat on top of me. I could hardly breath. I was paralyzed, I couldn't move, couldn't scream, nothing but a squeaky murmur. It felt like this thing was entering through my chest. My wife heard the murmur, came in turned on the lights and it disappeared.

Since then I have been divorced from my wife. Slowly but surely since I began to make better life decisions. I don't bring intentional harm upon others and I treat my body with much more respect. I also now have a closer relationship with god. I did see the spirit one time after the incident when it tried to enter my body, but it was just watching me. I told it to go away and I began to try harder to be a better person.

Black Shadow on the Ceiling

A couple of years ago my husband went out of town and me and my two girls were at home alone and my terrier too, (his name is Spot). Anyways we were home alone and my girls were already asleep and I was up watching TV. Well from the corner of my eye I saw a shadow in the corner of the next room, (the rooms were right next to each other, they shared a door). Anyway there was a shadow in the corner, this shadow was always trying to get my attention, but it never really fazed me.

Spot would bark at it and it would stop when I would go over where it was, so it when I turned back again it would moved side to side like it wanted me to look its way, then all of the sudden, I saw something black crawling on the ceiling and man I froze. Spot began to bark and he was drooling and I could tell he was scared but he kept his position.

This black shadow was crawling on my ceiling fast and the shadow in the corner had stopped moving. I could still see that it was there but it wouldn't move. So then I got under the covers and I covered my head, Spot too. When I took the covers off to take a look it peaked its head out to look at me. Man I was scared! I covered my head and put it on the Christian Channel and I went to bed.

Shadow Man by the Grave

There was one night where my mom, my mom's friend and four of my friends had decided to take a trip to our town's supposedly haunted cemetery. Well, we were already scared before we even arrived. However, we were determined to take a walk through the cemetery while our parents waited in the car. We all tried to hold hands in this big group as we walked the gravel roads.

Soon we were by the railroad tracks. And out of nowhere, we all see this man standing by a grave. He wasn't any hue or color. He was almost like a standing shadow. We ran as fast as we could. We made it to the car, but the night was not over yet.

My mother and I walked up to a small mausoleum, holding hands of course. We knock on the doors for no apparent reason and suddenly we hear this growl. Now, remind you, there are no wild animals where we live. But this was coming from inside.

When we ran to the car, we got inside and the lights weren't working and neither was our flashlight. Something spooky was at the cemetery that night, but we'll never know what.

Shadow Man In The Bathroom

It was about 4:56 in the morning when I had to go to the bathroom. I froze when I saw a shadow walk to the bathroom. At first I thought it was my dad but when I knocked on the door it opened and there was nobody there! I got really scared. Then I felt a tap on my shoulder.

I don't know how I managed to turn, but when I did it disappeared. ever since I'm to afraid to out to the bathroom.

Shadow Creature on Walk to Cemetery

I was at my 17th birthday party and my friend, my brother-in-law, my best friend and I were out walking at 4 a.m. We decided to go to the cemetery just because we were bored out of our minds. So we started to walk there and all of a sudden I got a feeling in my stomach like someone was turning something in my stomach. I told my friend Ryan who told my brother.

He took all four of us off to the side and started to explain to us that there is something evil out there which was what I felt. He continued to say that it was a Shadow Creature and it's feeding off my fear. While he was saying this a big thing was behind him in the tree about six feet away. It had glowing red eyes and it caught me and I couldn't look away.

We were told we had to get to the cemetery as fast as possible and were about a quarter of a mile away from there. The whole time we were walking there I felt something other than the creature I felt something more powerful... I was so scared... I'm pretty sure that I scared my friend too but that night changed my life forever and my friends life.

The Shadow Creature

I have never experienced any paranormal encounters but I love ghost stories. Anyway, I know some things that happened to my family. This is just a tale that comes to mind.

My grandmother, who is around fifty-four or something, was small, maybe a teenager. She was at her house with her sister and sister-in-law. The adults were not at home. They were listening to music, dancing and just goofing around in the bedroom, with a chair pushed against the door to keep people out. The girls were the only ones in the room. But soon, they stopped laughing when they started to hear noises. They knew nobody was there and they kept hearing odd sounds in the house. The chair they had pushed against the door moved suddenly like somebody was trying to get in. They all ran outside.

They opened the doors to my great-grandpa's car, the only vehicle there at the time. It seemed like the only place they could be safe. Soon, they saw a shadow-like figure emerge on the front porch. They said it looked like it was a large dog, standing on its hind legs. My grandma and her sister-in-law were screaming; they tried to get my aunt, Shirley, to look at the shadow, but she refused.

The thing, whatever it was, walked down from the porch to the car, and proceeded to stare at them through the windows. They held their heads down, trying not to look, filled with terror at the shadow. The only thing they remember after that was the return of my great-grandparents, who were shocked at the story they heard.

Nightmares And A Shadow Creature

When I was about four years old my mom married this guy named Ken (totally hate him) so we moved into the house my great grandmother left for her.

Before my great grandmother died, the house felt OK, but when we moved in something was out of the ordinary. About a month after we moved my cat, jasmine, got hit by a car while I was at my dad's. I thought it was a joke. They buried her in the backyard near the woods. I started having nightmares.

My first nightmare goes kinda like this: I was having my whole 5th grade class over for a field trip to my house. Jasmine was all bloody and had two moles with her. They both had bloody teeth. (I had gotten my new cat that I now own by then). They wanted to kill my new cat Moonlight. They all jumped at me while I was running with my beloved cat and I woke up screaming. I didn't notice I was crying and sweating.

My room, like any teenagers, was a mess, so I had a family birthday coming up and was wrapping presents in my room. All of a sudden the tissue paper starting bouncing around like a frog. I got freaked and told my mom, she said it's probably just the meds.

The next night I couldn't sleep so I got up to get a drink of water, and I felt like something was staring at me real hard so I turned around to see a black shadowy creature moving towards me. I started shouting all these things, I remember only few things that I said. I told it to go away and that it wasn't welcome here. Mom ran downstairs and the next morning she told me that I was pale white and she found me in the kitchen, and I was solid.
